OnePlus 11 gets Android 14 on September 25

In the past couple of days both Apple and Google have unveiled the dates of their upcoming fall launch events, and today OnePlus has an announcement of its own, but this isn't about a new phone - the OnePlus Open's introduction is still up in the air, it seems. Instead, the company has revealed that it will release stable OxygenOS 14, based on Android 14, on September 25. That's quite an optimistic timeline on OnePlus' part, considering the fact that Google hasn't released stable Android 14 yet. A public beta build of OxygenOS 14 is promised to be released in the coming days for the...

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 survives a brutal torture test

Aside from the usual scratching and burning, the Z Flip5 had to go through sand and backward bending. Weekly poll: do you use a screen protector and a case?

A couple of years ago we asked you whether you still use a screen protector and case – back then most users had a glass protector and a silicone case guarding their phone. Has that changed? Let’s find out. An IP rating is pretty common these days, especially in the high-end segment and even in the mid-range. Plus, Corning keeps releasing more and more durable Gorilla Glass versions. In theory, your phone is tough enough to go commando. Still, there’s a chance that something will break – replacing the screen of a Galaxy S23 Ultra costs $320, for an iPhone 14 Pro Max you would be looking...

Weekly poll results: Xiaomi Mix Fold3 sparks excitement at a distance

Is the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 the best horizontal foldable yet? According to the results from last week’s poll, the answer seems to be a firm “yes”, but with a big catch – so far, Xiaomi has made no plans to bring the Fold 3 to the global market, leaving it as a China exclusive. And that’s a problem for all those would-be buyers that live elsewhere. Some like the foldable well enough that they will try to import a unit, accepting the risks that come with buying a pricey device that has no official support (software and hardware) nearby. The phone’s camera setup – 50MP main, 5x and 3.2x tele...
